Pregnant Stray Dog Walks Into Fire Station To Deliver 8 Puppies And Find A Forever Home

A pregnant stray dog was ready to give birth, so she decided to stop by Apopka Fire Station 5 for a visit and a delivery. The big-hearted officers at the Apopka Fire Department in Florida was happy to take her in and name her Lady.

“And so I went outside and saw her, and she was pregnant,” Lt. Renee Beasley said. “Even though she was pregnant with her belly, she was extremely underweight. She also had about nine to 12 nails in her stomach, probably from ravaging for food.”

Thanks to the help of officers, Lady delivered a full litter of 8 adorable puppies that day. Sadly, one didn’t make it, but the other 7 were healthy. After that, they shared the story of their new pups on social media to call the help from the area. The Apopka community members offered to cover vet costs and food. They also helped find forever homes for the adorable puppies.

Beasley said, “Our community has a huge heart and everybody’s reached out to try and help out with her, so that’s been awesome.”

Many people came forward to adopt the puppies, and they would move into forever homes with loving owners. As for Lady, she’s already found a home with her beloved rescuers. The Apopka Fire Department adopted Lady and gave her a happy home. And now, she becomes their first official “fire dog”.

“Lady is going to end up staying with us. We’ve become very bonded with her,” said Beasley.
