Man Builds Winter Shelters For Street Cats Out Of Discarded Coolers

Winter is a rather difficult time for stray animals. While we enjoy the warmth of our home, many furry friends continue to roam the streets when temperatures go low.

Luckily, there are people who do everything in their power to make sure that stray animals have a warm place to rest.

One of them is Philip Rogich. The man, who lives in Ogden, Utah, has been turning other people’s garbage into small shelters for stray and feral cats. Philip recovers coolers that people throw away, and turns them into warm, dry places for cats to rest during the winter.

“I saw a post on Facebook about a man making them and thought I’d give it a try. I wrote my own post looking for old coolers and it kind of took off. I do a lot of charity work, especially with kids. My wife and I are also animal lovers and I wanted to do something for them,” said Philip. “I’ve done 77 so far and I have coolers to do 15 more.”
